No, we're not talking about the latest reading from our astrologer. Merely noting that the stars no longer seem to be aligned for saving the Saturn brand, now that the Penske Automotive Group has pulled out of a deal that was expected to grant it a reprieve from being shut down by parent company General Motors.
But here's the irony: Saturn now has one of the best product line-ups in its 19-year history. From the sexy Sky roadster to the eight-passenger Outlook crossover, there are some really good vehicles sitting on your local Saturn dealer's lot.
Which leads us to think this might actually be a great time to buy a Saturn. If you're not put off by the idea of purchasing a car from a dealer that may well be shuttered by the end of 2011 (and we wouldn't be, as parts and service will continue to be readily available at any GM dealer), now might be a good time to take one for a test drive and see what kind of deal you can haggle out of dealers famous for their "no-haggle" pricing.
