What's It Gonna Take?

Anyone who's ever set foot on a car dealer's lot has likely heard some variation on the classic line "What's it going to take to sell you this car today?"  And, while such transparent sales tactics can be irritating, we have to admit that the folks from General Motors have come up with a variation on this theme that's pretty hard to resist.

The automaker's new 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee program offers car shoppers what amounts to an eight-week test drive.  While there's some fine print, the premise is remarkably simple: Buy a new Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, or GMC model and, if you're not happy with it for any reason after 30 days, simply bring it back to the dealer where you bought it to get your money back, no questions asked.

While this is obviously a sweet deal for consumers, we think it's a stroke of marketing genius on the automaker's part.  We've told you on more than one occasion that we think a number of GM's newest models are truly world-class, if only car shoppers could get past their preconceived notions long enough to give them a try.  And, honestly, if this risk-free offer doesn't do it, nothing will.

If this unprecedented offer sounds intriguing, let us take a minute to point you in the right direction by sharing these DriverTV "virtual showroom experience" videos of some of our favorite new GM models:

Cadillac CTS

Chevrolet Traverse

Buick Enclave

GMC Yukon Hybrid
