Just came back from the annual classic car spectacle known as the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. If you've never been to this granddaddy of all vintage car shows, believe us when we tell you it's one of those things everyone should do at least once in their lives.
And don't dismiss that little piece of advice just because you're not a hardcore gearhead. Many of the remarkable pre- and post-war automobiles displayed on the manicured greens and fairways of the oceanfront Pebble Beach Golf Links--like the 1938 Alfa Romeo pictured above--are true works of art, rolling sculptures with forms every bit as aesthetically pleasing as anything you'd find in some stuffy art museum.
While we were there, we got into a spirited discussion on the subject of which new models might have what it takes to earn their own place of honor at this event. And so it is that we've come up with our own list of "future classics:"
