Maximum MPG

While gasoline is downright cheap in some parts of the country right now, experts are quick to point out that this reprieve from last summer's $4/gallon prices at the pumps is only temporary. 

Fortunately, automakers (and a growing number of schools) have seen the handwriting on the wall and are hard at work on new models that use considerably less gasoline.  Or, in some cases, no gas at all.  Even some of the makers of big-dollar exotics like the Bentley Continental GT-based Supersports Coupe--which puts out a whopping 621-horsepower on a less polluting E85 ethanol/gasoline blend--are getting into the act.

While we're all for this trend toward less thirsty vehicles, the question all these news reports raise in our minds is a simple one: Why wait?  Especially when there are so many fuel efficient models already on the market.
