Spring break season is just around the corner.  Which means all kinds of people--from college kids to couples to young families--will soon be hitting the road in search of warmer weather.

Which brings us to the question of what kind of wheels to hit the road in.  Because different spring break travelers are going to want and need very different things from a vehicle, we've broken our recommendations down into five distinct categories:

College Craziness:  If you're young and looking for a car that combines head-turning styling and good fuel economy, look no further than the new Mini Cooper Clubman.  Honorable Mention:  Nissan Versa.

Romantic Rendezvous:  If you're thinking of a romantic getaway with that special someone, you'll want a car that that sets the right mood.  Like the oh-so-sexy BMW 3-Series Convertible, for instance.  Honorable Mention: Saturn Sky.

Family Fun:  Taking the kids on vacation means you'll need a vehicle with room, and plenty of it.  With comfortable seating for up to eight passengers and abundant cargo space, the Chevrolet Traverse can handle the whole tribe and their stuff.  Honorable Mention: Ford Flex.

Back To Nature:  If it's outdoor fun you're after, the new roomier Subaru Forester offers a number of advantages over other small sport-utes, including an especially capable all-wheel-drive system.  Honorable Mention: Volvo XC70.

Two-Wheeled Wandering:  There's no better way to enjoy those first few beautiful spring days that from the saddle of a motorcycle like the Harley-Davidson Road King Classic.  Honorable Mention: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special.
